SAGE sponsors Saturday Scholars, a program of mini-courses designed to provide
challenging enrichment opportunities for academically, creatively and
artistically talented children.
Shen
Dollars for Scholars program offers a wide-range of scholarships
including memorial scholarships, additional
scholarships with specific emphases, as well as the general DFS
scholarship. Interested applicants should visit the
website and click on Scholarship Application for specific requirements.
Orenda is one of
four
elementary
schools
located
on
the
main
campus.
It
is
connected
to
Karigon
Elementary
School
sharing
a
cafeteria/auditorium.
It opened in 1968.

Rally! Students, teachers and staff held a pep rally for
the Orenda Eagles in preparation for the Almost March
Madness games on Sunday. All participants were excited and
ready for the challenge...Go Eagles!

Orenda' has begun a fundraiser for the
Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund.
The Student Council came up with idea
of "Hats 4 Haiti ". They collected money from students ,
faculty and staff. For each donation the student receives a
coupon imprinted with "I donated to Hats 4
Haiti",
this allows the student to wear a hat on Friday January 29,
2010 to school. So far, they have collected more than $800
from the Orenda faculty, staff and students. They will
continue collecting in the mornings until Thursday January
28, 2010.

first graders participated in a community service project.
The students made gingerbread ornaments and magnets for our
neighbors at Beacon Pointe Memory Care. At this time of
year, we thought it was important to bring a smile to their
faces! Over 100 gingerbread people were delivered this week
to Beacon Pointe.

Fundraiser -- It's that time of year again. We are
looking forward to having our 3rd annual Wreath Fundraiser
on the evening of December 3rd. Please come and join us to
support our PTA. The wreaths will be on display for silent
auction in the Orenda lobby starting on the 2nd. Like last
year, the auction will end when the Holiday Concert starts
at 7pm. The Orenda staff once again have come together to
show their creativity. This year promises to show the most
imaginative designs yet! Don't miss your chance to win an
original wreath designed by your favorite Orenda teacher.
The winners of the silent auction will be announced after
the concert, and the wreaths may be taken home that evening.
This year there will be real and artificial wreaths. Come
early and check out the wreaths. You won't see wreaths like
these anywhere else!

district-wide supply list guidelines for elementary schools.
