Homework

    Every homework assignment will have an HW at the top of the paper and will come home in their take home folders on the "bring back" side of the folder. Some assignments are the same every week.

Assignments

Web Reading Calendar- the children must bring home their  reading calendars Monday-Thursday nights. At home they must read for at least 15 minutes. After reading they must have an adult write the name of the book and sign their initials on the corresponding date on their calendar. At the end of every month there is a reading comprehension activity in the back of the calendar packet. That activity will be due the first day of the next month.

Spelling Packets- A spelling packet will go home every Monday (assuming we are having a normal week with a new spelling list).

Monday-All words 3 times each

Tuesday- 8 sentences, each containing one underlined spelling word

Wednesday- ABC order, all the words

Thursday-study for Friday's test

Reading Homework

Thursday-Bring home your Harcourt book, read the story of the week and complete a comprehension paper on the story.

Star Student Homework

Every week we will have a Star Student. On Monday of their week, each Star Student will bring in a poster all about them that they made over the weekend, that is their homework for Star Student.

The rest of the class on Thursday night will write 1 or 2 sentences about the Star Student and also draw them a picture, that is their homework.

The next Star Student is announced every Friday and a note is sent home with that child.

There will be other assignments as well such as math, science, and social studies. They will be clearly marked with HW and placed on the bring back side of the homework folder.
