Weekly Newsletter
for the week June 16- June 24

"Bear in mind that the wonderful things you learn in your schools are the work of many generations.  All this is put in your hands as your inheritance in order that you may receive it, honor it, add to it and one day faithfully hand it on to your children."  Albert Einstein

** I am sorry this is late arriving home to you.  This last week was especially exhausting with preparations and events  that took us through the evenings!  By the end of the Chair-ity my usual Umph was missing... so here I am today finishing it up!
Look What We have Learned
* Alphabet Celebration- Please be sure to return your response sheet to let us know how many people are coming and what you are bringing.  **Please help your child to read/ memorize the poem.  Many students know their poem... there will be a copy on stage for them to read or look at if necessary.  Please review as much as you can before next Monday!
*Math- subtraction is always the harder of the two operations when introduced to them in Kindergarten.  Many of them are able to work through a story problem if led through it with a solid hands on example.  Please continue to show them real examples at home.
* Our Zoo- is just about complete.  The PM class is finishing up their final copies of their reports.  These will come home at the end of the year.  Please know that these were done very simply.  Designing the zoo was very important with the different habitats.  Adding the animals was the fun part!  We included a few basic facts to accompany them on their drawings.

Lauren, Lillian, Gianni and Billy... and to all the summer birthdays!

To all the students who have completed the first word list!  KUDOS to you all!

FYI-

Alphabet Celebration has officially been scheduled for June 23  AM @ 9:30  and PM @ 1PM- this event is for parents and relatives to come and celebrate the end of the year with us! Please be sure that whatever snack you are sharing comes with the necessary utensils or serving pieces.  We will not have access to bowls, forks and spoons at the last minute.  We will provide the napkins, cups and juice/ drinks.  There will be a large table set up with A-Z letters where you will place the snack when you arrive.  I would suggest you arrive early for parking, sign-in and seating. I look forward to seeing you all then!  ** If you would like to sign out your child that day, please provide a note that AM for the office.  You will need to sign out your child that day if you are not sending them on the bus!

Cabaret and Chair-ity to benefit Luke Romano was a huge success!  Thank you to all who gave of your time to attend our Cabaret!  It was a fun evening and Luke very much enjoyed himself.

The Relay for Life was also a success!  Thank you AGAIN to all who came to walk and support our Orenda Team!  Mrs. Rybak was especially impressive getting there and walking in that heat with those twins in her tummy!  I just think she is the model for enthusiasm!  If you are curious how we did, you can catch a little of how it all turned out on the website.  Not all of the money raised is recorded there, but you will get a good idea.

Dear AM-parents !

Time is going by so fast and this was a great year for our Kindergarten kids. Of course because of their wonderful teacher but also because they are just wonderful little people.

Before summer starts it would be great to get the kids together. Let’s meet at Longkill Park on June 24th at noon for a picnic. Bring some food or drinks to share! Hopefully you are all going to be there. Any siblings are more than welcome. See you all on Tuesday.

Jiska (Nout’s Mom)

Directions:  Take exit 10 on the Northway, if you drive down Ushers Road and take a right at the Stewarts the park is on your right hand side.

Attention all parents of the PM class:

Come help celebrate the end of a great Kindergarten year with

an ice cream party on Friday, June 27th.
It starts at 1:00 at Trevor Connors house (14 Carpenter Way).

If you and your child can make it (siblings are also more than welcome to come),
please call Lynn at 877-4987 for directions. If you would like to bring
a topping or a special treat, please let us know. If it is a nice day, we
will be turning on the sprinklers, so have the kids bring their bathing
suits. We hope to see you there!!
