CHARACTER COUNTS!!! June is Pride!
BE ON THE LOOK OUT for information coming home about our Spelling Bee, Alien Day and Field Day!!! This will come home on special flyers.** Field Day came home... look for Spelling Bee and Alien Day this week!
White T-shirts are due
by FRIDAY!!! We will be decorating them... new or old... it is up to you!
Homework for the week:
1. Book Calendar- DUE ON FRIDAY!! This is the last
one of the year! Please
be sure to read each day and have your calendar signed by adult. ** Don't
forget to work on those book reports! You can turn them in any time!
2. Spelling- Beyond the book words... No pretest for homonyms. These are
typically very hard for the kids.
Tue. night- 3X each
Wed. night-
ABC order
Thurs night - sentences and study
Test is on Friday this week!
Literature Circles- Non fiction- reading for information on our Solar System.
Writing- POETRY- wrapping up the book with covers and a table of contents.
100s club - .... and the new 100s club members
are.....? Keep studying!!! THIS IS A GOAL FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR. I will
send home previous texts this week so you can see their progress. As reading
calendars end, please pick up math facts and give them one final push to achieve
the goal of 100 facts in 6 min. on paper. (Verbally, it should be 100 facts in 5
min.)
Math class- standard vs. non- standard measurement of weight
- We are in the final stretch and finishing up parts of
the curriculum. There are chapters that we only have to complete a few lessons
from, so the chapter will be short and sweet. If you wish to provide your child
with some enrichment, feel free to use the extra pages at your discretion.
After this chapter, we will be touching upon the basic understandings of
multiplication and division.
SCIENCE!
THIS WEEK- Mrs. Gwiazdowski will be their
special science teacher this week.
Scholastic - LAST BOOK ORDER!! Get your summer reading now... I will have at minimum 3 book clubs to choose from so you can get books from a variety of levels.

Tissues are still needed... thank you to those of you who have already
sent some in.
BOX TOPS! Don't forget to clip them... better yet, get your child to clip them!
Tabs from soda/ drink cans- collecting these to support the Shriners. We have a STUDENT IN ORENDA who benefits directly from this collection! How cool!
