How can you tell if a site is Treasure or Trash?
Just because a site is on the internet doesn't mean that it is current, correct, or reliable. Use common sense when evaluating a website to determine if it is a "treasure" or a piece of "trash".

Criteria for Evaluating Internet Resources
Authority
Who created/published the site?
What are his/her/their credentials?
Is there a way for user to make comments or ask questions?
Is the site copyright compliant?
Is the site listed in a good directory?
Accuracy
Are spelling and grammar correct?
Is information accurate?
Bias/Point of View
Does the site exhibit a bias or slant?
Is the site informative or persuasive?
Currency
Is the site kept current?
Is the "last updated" date displayed?
Design
Why was the site created?
Does advertising overshadow content?
Is the text easy to read?
Can user easily maneuver around site?
Are required plug-ins or other applications identified?
Are links well organized?
