What's new in our classroom
For the week of: February 6, 2012
Hello Kindergarten Friends!
On Tuesday, February 14, we will be having our KSD Valentine's Day Celebration. If anyone is interested in volunteering to come in for the celebration please let me know. The am class will have their party from 9:00am-10:00am and the pm class will have their party from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
The librarian is looking for volunteers to help out in the library during the school day. If you are interested, please let me know and I will set that up for you. Remember: you need to have a completed volunteer form in the main office before you can start.
Themes for the week: continue to talk about numbers, winter clothing, Arctic animals, and February
Academic focus for the week: Arctic animals, letters, numbers 1-20, sound spelling, listening comprehension and sequencing events from a story
Students will be working on spacing between words in a sentence, writing letters on the line and sound spelling during ELA in the classroom, writing sentences using this week's sight words.
Students will be playing a Valentine's Day game on Tuesday.
During motor group this week, students will be learning more about Brain Gym and playing throw and catch.
During centers this week, students will be making winter clothing books, number books, a snowy owl art project and completing Valentine's Day coloring and dot to dot worksheets.
