Parent Information

Elementary General Music classes meet two times each week for 30 minutes per class. Most children will have me, Mrs. Grebe, as their teacher, and will meet in the Music room, 360. Some classes will have Mrs. Mason as their teacher, and will meet in the Instrumental Music room, 362, or in their own classroom. No matter where class may be held,  your child will participate in a variety of fun musical activities. All Fourth and Fifth Grade students are welcome to join the school's Chorus. Fourth and Fifth Grade children may choose to study an Orchestral string instrument. Fifth Grade boys and girls who are not in the school's Orchestra will be invited to begin learning a Band instrument. In addition to these exciting ensembles, Shatekon Chorus students may choose to audition (try out) for the Shatekon Select Chorus, which meets after school. This is a small group of talented singers, which meets together to rehearse music for our concerts and to participate in music enrichment activities.

Look for the following paperwork to come home with your child:

*Chorus sign-up sheet and parent contract (September) Gr.4/5

*Recorder order form (September) Gr. 3

*Select Chorus audition (try-out) information (Late September) Gr. 4/5

*Orchestra sign-up (May) Gr. 3/4

*Band sign-up (May) Gr. 4
