V.I.C.
|
It is the philosophy of Morning Program that each and every child in our school is important. Therefore, each week a student is selected from each class to be the V.I.C. (Very Important Child) for the week. The V.I.C. participates as a member of the rhythm band at Morning Program. Being V.I.C. also gives each child the opportunity to let other children learn about themselves by displaying pictures on our V.I.C. bulletin board in our classroom. There are six items the children present about themselves. *My Family *My Friends *My Favorite Food *My Favorite Sport *My Favorite Color *What I Like About School When it’s your child’s turn they need to bring pictures for each of the above categories. Pictures from magazines work great, as well as real photographs or pictures drawn by your child. All pictures should be sent to school during your child’s V.I.C. week. They will be on display throughout the week and then returned at the end of the week. Also on the last day of your child’s V.I.C. week they should bring in their favorite snack to share with their classmates. (There are 20 students in our class.) V.I.C. helps foster self-esteem for the children. They always feel a great sense of pride when their information is displayed on our V.I.C. board! I thank you in advance for all your help in making your child’s V.I.C. week extra special.
