Writing Support

    Writing activities can be done while reading with your child or separately. Here are some suggestions that may help you support your child. Most important is to enjoy the process together.

·       Write down a prediction about a story you are reading- this can be done after reading a page, or chapter

·       Write a play about the story and perform it with friends

·       Write a summary about what was read

·       Keep a journal of summer activities

·       Write an original story

·       Write a letter to a school friend, relative-grandmother, aunt, uncle, or neighbor, teacher
