Skano - Tesago Orchestra | Mrs. Jasinski, Director |
Students in fourth and fifth grade may choose to begin taking a string instrument. It is encouraged that students begin lessons in elementary school since there is no beginning lessons offered at the middle and high school levels. Students participate in weekly lessons in small groups. Lessons are held once a week for half an hour and are free of cost. Lessons meet during the school day on a rotating schedule so that students do not miss the same block of class each week. Skano and Tesago students have lessons Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Lessons are offered for violin, viola, cello and bass. To see and hear them, click here: STRINGS
Fifth grade students who return to orchestra also attend a 45 minute orchestra rehearsal each week on Wednesday afternoons from 1:15 - 2:00. Fourth grade students will be eligible to attend orchestra when they have demonstrated a predetermined proficiency level.
Please keep in mind that your child can participate in both chorus and orchestra. Fifth graders can not participate in both band and orchestra.
