Two fun songs
|
These songs are chosen by the
monthly organizers. Songs are chosen to: reinforce good character skills, to reinforce the theme, or simply just because they are fun! |

Helpers
|
Helpers all come from the same
classroom. The classroom holds and rotates the jobs for about a week.
Helpers: hold the flag, lead the pledge, tell the day and date, tell the weather, tell the lunch menu. |
|
Patriotic Song
|
Chosen by the monthly organizers. Out of respect, students stand with their hands at their sides and face the flag while we sing. |
|
Greeters
|
Greeters hold their jobs for about a week. These children come from 3rd grade classrooms as this is a big responsibility. On Mondays the Greeters introduce themselves and read the Golden Rules to the audience. They also greet visitors and hand out programs. When you visit Morning Program, the Greeters will ask you to sign a visitors book. |

Introductions
|
Each school year, any first time guests are able to be introduced at Morning Program. When the Greeter announces it is time, meet your child up front to be introduced. If you know you are coming, it is a good idea to have your child practice the introduction first at home. |
|
New or Leaving Students
|
New students will be introduced to Skano. Students leaving will have the Adios song sung to them. |
|
Birthdays
|
We sing and sign The Happy Birthday Song to the children. Children bring pennies equal to their age. The pennies are then donated to a charity. |
|
Word, Riddle, and Challenge
|
On Mondays a word, a riddle, and a challenge are announced by third graders. Children have the opportunity to answer any or all of these in their classrooms throughout the week. On Fridays, the answers are reviewed with the children. |
|
The Wonder Box
|
This is a mystery box. It contains an object related to the monthly theme. Each week the students are given a clue about what is in the box. The children try and try to guess what it is before the month is up and the mystery is revealed. |

Announcements
|
Any important news is shared by Mrs. Fitzgerald. |
|
Program Event
|
The event is chosen by the monthly coordinators and fits a theme decided on by the Morning Program team. |
|
VIC
|
Very Important Children are announced on Fridays. These children make up the rhythm committee during our fun songs the following week. |
|
Closing
|
The classes are dismissed. |
