Spring is here! We have been learning about flowers and plants and how they grow. We planted marigold seeds and are tracking their progress in our plant journals. Now we know the parts of a plant and special science words like “sprout”. There is something special about watching a seed grow into a flower.
Now we are learning about farms. There are lots of great non-fiction books about farm animals. The pictures teach us as much as the words! If you get a chance to visit a farm, it is a wonderful experience. I can still remember feeding calves from a bottle on my uncle’s dairy farm. If you don’t know a farmer, you can always stop by the barns at the county fair. The children love learning about the animals. Be sure to take pictures!
I am so proud of how much the children have grown! Every day I am amazed at the reading and writing I see and their enthusiasm for these activities. Thank you for all of the help and encouragement you give your child. Please be sure to continue to give them opportunities during the summer months to learn and grow.
