Morning Program is a daily assembly for first, second
and third graders. It happens from 8:15 - 8:35 in our cafeteria.
This year's theme is "The Jolly Postman". Morning Program helps build a
sense of community, as well as public speaking, listening skills and
audience manners. Students take turns being helpers and doing
presentations. I will let you know when our class will be "on stage".
Parents are welcome to attend and should sign in at the office.
Each child will have a chance to be "V.I.C." for a week. This stands for
"very important child" and helps foster self-esteem and a chance to share
special things about themselves. When it is your child's turn to be the
V.I.C. I will send home a poster for you to do together. This should be
completed over the weekend and will be shared with the class.
I will also send home a special bag of books which can be kept for the week
and returned by Friday.
When it is your child's birthday, he/she will be recognized at Morning
Program. Everyone brings in a penny for each year of their age.
At the end of the year, the pennies are donated to a charity. Summer
birthdays will be celebrated in June.
