Social Studies

The fifth grade program stresses geographic, economic and social/cultural understandings related to the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

We will begin the year studying United States Government. After government, we will study the regions of the United States. During this time, the children will be working on state reports. We will end the year studying Canada and Latin America.

In November, the students will take the Fifth Grade DBQ (Document Based Question) Exam. We will begin preparing the students for this exam in September. Information will be coming home with your child.
