Who Is Mr. Johnson?

I want to welcome you to my second grade class.  This year will be one full of learning, discovery, friendship and, of course, fun.  This fall I begin my eighteenth year of teaching and all of those years have been at Skano Elementary School.   When I started teaching, I taught first grade for five years before beginning my looping experience to second grade.  I looped with my class four times and enjoyed every minute of that experience.  I loved teaching second grade so much that I decided to plant roots.  I enjoy helping second graders become independent readers writers and thinkers as well as foster a love of learning.  I live in Clifton Park with my wife and our four year old daughter.  When I'm not teaching, I enjoy riding my bike, hiking, exercising and of course reading. 

I believe that  the key to a strong home to school relationship is communication.  If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding your child's progress please feel free to contact me by phone, e-mail, or send a note with your child .  I do my very best to respond to all types of communication in a prompt manner.
