Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Partnership team is to collaborate
with our staff, parents, and community to improve
educational opportunities in meeting the needs of
all students.
Our History
Skano’s move toward school-based management began in the
1987-1988 school year. This effort evolved into the current
School Partnership Team. Mandated by the
New York State
New Compact for Learning,
the team is driven by the belief that
the most effective decisions are made when those affected are
involved in the decision-making process.

Goal:
To provide building leadership.

provide building leadership that will support high quality
literacy instruction.
Goal:
To provide building leadership that
assures that in compliance
with NY State Law, Skano continues to develop, practice and
implement the Incident Command System.
Goal:
To create awareness and provide information for partnership to learn
about Professional Learning Communities, Response to Intervention,
Student Information Services and the Parent Portal, and 21st Century
Skills.

September 19, 2011
We welcomed our new members to Partnership - one teacher and one parent
member. We had an overview of the District Goals for 2011-12.
We had a discussion on the focus of the Partnership team for the 2011-12
school year. We reviewed the Partnership Team document, including
members, roles and responsibilities. We set the meeting dates for
the school year.

Any
stakeholder may complete a Partnership Goals, Suggestions
or Concerns Form if they have a proposal or concern that
they
would like to be addressed by our team. Printed forms
are
available in the main office at Skano, or you may

Members serve
a three year term and are rotated off so only one

stakeholder group leaves each year.

The team
meets once a month.

The SPT reports at all PTA and faculty
meetings. Meeting highlights
are posted on our webpage
and in the PTA newsletter.

You can
get a hard copy in the Skano office or access the District website.

Suggestions or concerns can be written on the SPT brochure.
