Beginning September 2008, Shenendehowa has prepared a district-wide
supply list for elementary schools that includes district-supplied items
and parent-supplied items. This is an effort to reduce the
variations across schools and the amount of supplies that parents have
to purchase at the beginning of the year.
Click here for the parent-supply list for students in grades K-5 for
the 2008-09 school year. |

Chubby
Checker visited Skano Elementary School and danced with students to the "Respect Twist"
Skano Elementary students
celebrate each day with Morning Program. All the students in grades 1-3 gather
together to start the day in a fun informative way. They sing songs, acknowledge
birthdays and sometimes dance and sing the "Respect Twist" When Skano heard that the radio
station, B 95.5, was bringing Chubby to
their Office Party at Vapor, they contacted Ric Mitchell and told him he might
want to mention to Chubby that Skano children do the Respect Twist. Ric Mitchell did more than
mention it to Chubby, he arranged to have Chubby actually visit the morning
program and lead the students and faculty in the Respect Twist.

the lobby, where parents will sign them out.

Attention:
SKANO AND TESAGO ELEMENTARY - NEW STUDENT DROP-OFF PROCEDURES - Starting
September 5th.
To make the
parking lot safer for all Skano/Tesago children, please follow these guidelines:
-
Students
can not be dropped off before 7:55 a.m. Prior to that time there is no
supervision for students.
-
All cars
should turn down the back access road (behind Tesago).
-
The drop
zone for Skano and Tesago children is located at the Tesago back door.
-
Children
should not get out of the car until they are told to do so.
-
All
children should exit the car on the right side.
-
Parents
should stay in their car and immediately leave the parking lot.
-
Children
arriving after 8:15 a.m. must be signed in by an adult in the main office.
Research
shows that the safest way for children to arrive and depart from school is on a
school bus. It is dangerous when children walk in the parking lot and are
not dropped off at the designated area. We encourage you to take advantage
of district transportation – and not drive your children to or home from school.
Thank you for
your cooperation and support. |

In an
effort to ensure consistent practices and protocols across
our elementary schools, the district has developed an
elementary handbook for students and parents and a volunteer
handbook.
