School Nurse

Gale Elfner

As Skano’s school nurse, my goal is to help promote optimal health and wellness for the entire Skano population. Each year, part of my duties are to conduct vision & hearing screenings on all students; scoliosis screening on all 5th grade students; and  participate in kindergarten registration & orientation. This is in addition to the everyday assessment of  bumps & bruises, the illnesses and symptoms that students present with in my office each and every day! I serve as a resource for parents and staff members on various health issues and health related topics. I work closely with Mrs. Karoly and Miss VanBuren on health and safety issues as well as being a member of the school’s SAVE team.  I am a member of the New York State Association of School Nurses and the National Association of School Nurses.

Please feel free to contact me at any time at 881-0561 or elfngale@shenet.org. You can leave messages 24 hours a day and I will respond usually within the next school day.
