Changing Families
(formerly Banana Splits)

Tesago has an active lunchtime Changing Families program for children who have changes in their family due to separation, divorce, death, or remarriage of a parent. These are stressful events for children and they may experience a wide variety of emotions that may affect their school behavior and/or performance.
Changing Families is an in-school peer support program that helps children to explore, express, and understand their feelings. Through group discussions and activities, they realize that they are not alone. Others have faced and learned to cope with similar situations
Tesago’s Changing Families groups meet every other week during lunch time, beginning in November and ending in April. They are led by Tesago’s School Counselor, Amy Quinlivan.
Attendance at meetings is always voluntary, so that Changing Families remains a “want to” group, not a “have to” group.
If your child would like to be a part of Changing Families, please fill out and return the sign-up form. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Quinlivan at 881-0570.
