SAGE sponsors Saturday Scholars, a program of mini-courses designed to provide
challenging enrichment opportunities for academically, creatively and
artistically talented children.

Dollars for Scholars program offers a wide-range of scholarships
including memorial scholarships, additional
scholarships with specific emphases, as well as the general DFS
scholarship. Interested applicants should visit the

four
elementary
schools
located
on
the
main
campus.
It
is
connected
to
Skano
Elementary
School
sharing
a
cafeteria/auditorium.
It opened in 1966-67.

Elementary writes, produces and performs original play on
March 31, 2010 at 8:30am and 7pm.
Tesago’s Drama Club co-directors, June Coryer and Leslie
Javarone have written an entirely original stage play
entitled “Zombie School.” It represents a departure for the
directors who have had great success, in years passed, with
copy written, play scripts for young actors.
The setting for the play is the Tesago cafeteria, the
characters are Tesago and Skano students, as well as some
very interesting visitors who arrived in a meteor shower,
the Zombies. The play highlights the importance of
understanding and accepting diversity. “What better place to
start opening up to diversity than right here in our own
school community?” Coryer noted.
After auditioning nearly 50 students, 20 were selected for
this year’s cast. Students rehearse three days a week after
school in preparation for the upcoming performance date.
There are two large dance numbers which students have
learned through creative use of “You Tube.” “I’m really
thrilled that our 4th and 5th grade students are up there on
stage doing actual Jerome Robbins choreography from ‘West
Side Story,’ with very little modification” said Javarone.
“The use of “You Tube” represents a real shift in what is
possible for dance and the history of dance,” she also
noted.
An 8:30 am performance is planned for the entire school
along with a 7pm performance for the actor’s families. All

Student Council, staff and school community pulled together
and collected 12 boxes of supplies for the Operation
Adopt-a- Soldier Program. Personal care items, snack
foods, writing supplies and small games are just a few of
the items collected for the program. Many of the Tesago
students also made cards and wrote letters to our soldiers
and sailors overseas. Tesago sends a huge thank you to all
of our military personnel.

up lunch at Tesago - Annie Scholz, a WTEN News Reporter
came to Tesago on Friday, November 20th to do a news segment
called “Annie on the Job”. Annie, with the help of the
Tesago kitchen staff made more than 500 grilled cheese
sandwiches. She then sat and ate lunch with some of the
Tesago students. The segment will air Wednesday, November
25th on the 4:00 news.

Beginning September 2009, Shenendehowa has prepared
district-wide supply list guidelines for elementary schools.
