Budget Vote – absentee ballots , procedure that was posted on 5/8 on Shen Web site Only mailing ballots to those who voted the past two years does not follow the Executive Order. At minimum a ballot should be sent to all people who receive a SCHOOL TAX BILL. Seems like the a deliberate attempt to have a reduced voter turn-out.

A. To the contrary, the district will mail out approximately 25,000 absentee ballots (the typical mailing list for the annually required budget notification including veterans and people with disabilities plus anyone who voted on the budget the last three years who is not on that list). We have also developed a web form for people to submit to request an absentee ballot. This will be advertised in two separate mailings required for this vote as well as posted on the website and social media

If you read the communication, it said “There are still many unknowns about the school budget. Here is what we know.” That means that things are changing daily as regulations, guidelines and orders are received and interpreted. Please continue to follow the website for the most up-to-date information.
