Coronavirus COVID-19 Update 3/30/20 – Curriculum and Instructional Guidelines. More info…

Written by on March 30, 2020

The Coronavirus public health emergency has challenged us to find new ways to stay focused on our Commitment to Excellence. While schools are closed due to COVID-19, learning opportunities and instruction for students K-12 continue and we appreciate your patience and support as we navigate these unchartered waters.

As a result of the Governor’s Executive Order for schools to remain closed until April 15, we realize there are many questions circulating. Shenendehowa has developed guidelines related to:

  • Curriculum
  • Instruction
  • Time spent by students learning
  • Report cards
  • Grading practices during the suspension of onsite classes

Our goal is to ensure students continue learning during this extended closure.

We have developed a presentation and video to provide clarity about reasonable expectations for students, families, and teachers.

Shenendehowa teachers are also receiving these guidelines today as well.  We anticipate teachers will be able to align their practices with these guidelines by the middle of this week.

A sincere thank you to all who are working at home with your children to help them maintain important connections and access to learning materials during this time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or school principal.
