Coronavirus Update 4/9/20 – Information about assessments, grading and report cards…

Written by on April 9, 2020

The daily experience of students has been significantly altered as a result of the impact of COVID-19. As a district with a strong emphasis on the principles of equity, we are focused on meeting the needs of students in these unprecedented times.

We have attached a document with information about grading, assessments and report cards (Parent Info for Online Learning). Teachers are adapting instructional and assessment practices to ensure students are not disadvantaged and equity is preserved. Learning itself is being prioritized over the assignment of specific grades. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

Students, with support from their families, are strongly encouraged to remain engaged with their learning. The learning they are doing during this time is fundamental to the next grade level and/or course and even in creating foundational knowledge for future assessments such as SATs, ACTs, etc.

As always, thank you for your support and patience while we work to provide students with a quality experience during this time.
