POSITION:

Elementary Q.U.E.S.T. Program
full-time, tenure track position

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
NYS Nursery, Kindergarten & Grades 1-6 OR Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten & Grades 1-6 OR Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) certification

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Literacy AND Gifted and Talented experience

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Q.U.E.S.T. – Question-Understand-Experiment-Share-Think is a District program for students in grades 4 and 5 who demonstrate abilities well above their peers in the social sciences.  The program is an inquiry/project based experience that focuses on English language arts integrated with social studies and science the whole year.  The teacher will provide instruction to each of the elementary schools in a one day a week pull out program.  It is desired that the candidate be self-directed, have some experience or certification in gifted education, as well as experience in facilitating inquiry and/or project based units of instruction at the intermediate elementary level.  Essential skills of collaboration, preparation, instruction and critical analysis, as well as all related professional responsibilities.
