I have heard that some other schools in NYS allow students to take the English (ELA) Regents exam in January of their 11th grade year. This was being done to give more opportunities for the students who might struggle on the exam to have chances to pass it. It sounds like a great idea! Can Shen offer this? It would allow a student an experience on the exam early and if the student passes, then the student can carry on with the 11th grade English normally to get the course credit. But if the student fails, the student still gets an experience with the exam and can try again in June. Could Shen consider this?

A. The English Regents exam is designed to be taken in the spring of junior year.  Students do best with a full-year of instruction and focused test preparation prior to the exam.
