Information regarding this year’s AP Exams…

Written by on April 26, 2021

Dear AP Students, Parents/Guardians, and Teachers:

There are some important reminders, as well as new information, that we would like to share with you regarding this year’s upcoming AP Exams. Please review all of the information below carefully.

  • A reminder that students taking AP exams this year will have their tests administered during the school day at High School East during the normal administration of May 3- May 17 as planned, and as they have been accustomed to in years past. A full schedule of exams can be found linked below.
  • The exams will be administered with abundant safety precautions in place, similar to the recent January administration of in person PSAT/NMSQT exams. Students will self certify, pass through thermal scanners for temperature checks, remain socially distanced, and test in spaces which will be regularly sanitized. In addition, our larger AP exams will be split into multiple testing locations. The testing process will conform with all health and safety guidelines from the district, county, state, and The College Board.
  • Students who are not normally scheduled to attend in person on the date of their exam(s) as well as those who finish afternoon exams after dismissal will need to provide their own transportation to and from HSE as there will not be any additional, nor late busing, provided. If there are individual concerns related to transportation please reach out to Mr. LaBarre at directly.
  • For any student who is physically not able to attend the in person scheduled AP exam they are registered for, there will be an at home, digital version of most exams offered by The College Board during the 2nd administration dates of May 18-May 28. Only students who are ill, have a serious health related concern, are officially quarantined, or have another valid reason will be permitted to opt into these at home digital exams. A parent or guardian must fill out the Google Form linked below at least 10 days prior to the date of their student’s exam to request this option, and approval is at the discretion of the district AP Coordinator. In addition, not all courses/exams have a digital option.
  • Student’s district issued Chromebooks are the only devices that can be used for the digital exams. All students should access the digital app and explore the practice modules so that they are familiar with the process in the event they need to shift to a digital exam format whether planned or unexpectedly. For directions on how to find and access the Digital App on student Chromebooks click here. Once a student has accessed the app, there is a simple Digital App Demo, and a longer Digital Practice tool which students can access including practice exams, answer scoring, and reporting through MyAP. More details on these options can be found here.
  • The College Board will also have live and pre-recorded review sessions that students may find helpful. More information can be found here
  • If you still have not submitted payment for any exam, please follow the instructions found on the billing memo found here
