Karigon PTA members, Student Council representatives, teachers and administrators pose with Superintendent Dr. L. Oliver Robinson to highlight the $1,400 donation to the Bountiful Backpack program.

The Karigon Elementary PTA joined forces with the Karigon Student Council for a “Show You Care” Kindness Project during the month of February to raise money for the Bountiful Backpack program.

All students at Karigon were encouraged to perform Acts of Kindness for their families, friends, teachers, neighbors and anyone else who may be in need of a little extra kindness over a three day period. Student Council members created posters and announcements to help spread the word. Students tracked their acts, demonstrating how much they care for the people around them. The PTA challenged the students to complete 100 Acts of Kindness and the students, in true Shenendehowa fashion, shattered the goal and recorded 700 Acts of Kindness in just three days!

Total funds raised for the Backpack program totaled $1,400. Karigon PTA members and Student Council leaders posed for a photo with teachers, administrators and Superintendent Dr. L. Oliver Robinson to commemorate the donation.

The Shenendehowa community would like to thank all organizations and individuals who participated in the event surrounding Kindness month in February.
