Please actually get an answer to the question: “Why is the special occasion dress code so different for boys vs. girls? It is especially noticeable for events at the end of the school year, in heat and humidity. The girls can be much more comfortable in light short sleeveless summer dresses and sandals. The boys have to wear pants, shirt, tie, socks, dress shoes. What if you make the girls wear dresses that cover them neck to ankles, stockings, and dress shoes? Sounds silly? Why can’t the boys wear nice shorts, shirt, and sandals?” You said “Talk to your principal.” This is a problem at all levels at Shen, not specific to one school or one student, so please address it and post a reply. Thank you.

A. You haven’t mentioned which school you are talking about but the district does not have a special occasion dress code.
