Seven candidates vie for two seats on the Board of Education

Two seats on Shenendehowa’s Board of Education are up for election—the seats are currently held by Naomi Hoffman and Gusta Miller. Board members serve three-year terms and are unpaid.

The requirement to get signed petitions to run for school board was waived by the Governor for this election. Those who chose to run for the school board just needed to submit the application by the deadline of May 12 at 5 p.m.

The following candidates who submitted applications to run by the deadline are listed in alphabetical order below:

The Budget Vote/School Board Election will be held June 9 by Absentee Ballot ONLY

You are a qualified voter if you are:

  • US Citizen
  • 18 years of age
  • Resident of the district for at least 30 days

ABSENTEE BALLOT Information: Qualified voters will be sent an absentee ballot. Anyone who meets the definition of a “qualified voter” but does not believe they will be on the school district’s poll list (which includes all residents who are on the annual budget newsletter mailing list and names of residents who voted in recent years’ school elections), please fill out this form https://bit.ly/ShenVote as soon as possible to ensure timely receipt of an absentee ballot for the 2020-2021 school budget and BOE election.
