Capital Region BOCES has launched a new initiative this year to empower its students while also teaching them valuable skills they can use to build their futures. Students on the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School Albany Campus and the Maywood School were included in the interview teams earlier this school year for the hiring of an assistant principal and teaching assistants. Students, like senior Sarah W. currently in the Criminal Justice program, joined faculty, administration and staff on the career and technical school team for a new assistant principal.

“Being a part of the interview team taught me a lot about what characteristics people are looking for in job candidates and during interviews. It will help me a lot when I apply for jobs,” Sarah said.
