Rosenberry aspires to a career in welding and metal fabrication and chose the Capital Region BOCES program to achieve that goal.

“I like working with my hands and taking something and making something new out of it,” said the teen who, prior to enrolling in BOCES, had never welded before.

“The people here are great. The teachers are fantastic,” Rosenberry said. “I like how I can work with my hands and I don’t have to write too many essays.”

Rosenberry is one of more than 74 students enrolled in the two-year program that is taught in two labs on the Albany Campus. Students in the program learn American Welding Society standards and earn certifications that prepare them for a career in the welding industry.
