Shenendehowa teachers and administrators attended the 6th annual New York Capital Area Languages (NYCAL) Item-Writing Workshop with more than 80 language professionals from more than 30 school districts at Capital Region BOCES in November.

Participants reviewed best practices in writing test items, spent time on calibration of scoring Checkpoint A and B speaking and writing components, and collaborated on teams to begin building this year’s NYCAL Checkpoint A and B World Language Exams.  Shenendehowa is proud to be a founding member of the consortium.  Sarah Cioffi (Academic Administrator for World Languages), Nick Spanswick (Spanish), Pam Thompson (French), Michelle Delwiche (Spanish), Jake Luttinger (French), and Jennifer Bennett (German) are hard at work creating this year’s exams.
