Spam email threat…

We are sending this to inform you about an incident that happened today. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Principal Robin Gawrys opened a spam email that included a non-specific, bomb threat at our “company.” As a precaution, she called our school resource officer and began a shelter in place. Once it was confirmed to be spam mail, the shelter-in-place was lifted.

At about the same time, other staff members throughout the district began reporting that they also received the spam mail.

In October, 1999, Governor Pataki signed legislation making it a Class E felony for anyone to issue a false bomb threat directed towards a school in New York State.  Individuals convicted of issuing a bomb threat face felony prosecution.

We are always concerned about the safety of our students and recognize the need to provide you with accurate information. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department will continue to investigate.
