What is the point of the electronic writing portfolio that shen is making the students share with their teachers?

A.  The electronic writing portfolio serves as a repository of a student’s writing in grades 6-12. It allows an English teacher to review an incoming student’s writing, gives a student a place to house best work and/or major pieces from all subjects, and is downloaded by students in June of their senior year.  Students graduate from Shenendehowa with a portfolio of their work over time and a record of their writing in the secondary English program. In 2017-18 we aim to expand the portfolio to grades 5 -12 to serve as a bridge between the elementary and secondary ELA instruction.
