With all due respect, students should not have to turn in phones to a person outside the bathroom before they go to the bathroom. Students should be able to keep their phones on them. Just because one bad actor used a phone in appropriately in a locker room does not mean the bathrooms and the school needs to be turned into a police state. I note, too, that it is only the bathrooms this is being done to and not the locker rooms where the problem happened. Additionally, the people most likely to comply with the policy are those who wouldn’t misuse the phones in the bathroom anyway. Thus, you are punishing the entire student body for actions of one student not in the bathroom but in a locker room. Makes no sense.
