Why does our Superintendent receive a one year extension on his four year contract every year? Shouldn’t every position in the district face an end of contract evaluation?

Written by on June 13, 2017

A. Education law limits the superintendents contracts in the state of New York to a maximum of five (5) years at any given point. The Shenendehowa superintendent has had a five year renewable contract, meaning it is reviewed and approved annually by the Board of Education, for at least the last 10 years.

You know nothing about this art show fiasco. Get your facts straight. Nobody put a sign telling people to draw on the pictures, it was there to begin with because it was an INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION PIECE. The point of the artwork was to get students talking about Trump/politics/activism. Never did anyone encourage hate speech–just free speech. Stop spreading misinformation.

Written by on June 12, 2017

A. We don’t care who put the sign up, the sign and the artwork are not the problem, it was the obscenities. We don’t allow it on shirts, on hats on art or anywhere else for that matter.

Why is the Shen pool at Gowana not open to the public during the summer. Taxpayer money is going into it’s upkeep while it sits unused for almost three months during the summer. As taxpayer money pays for it, it should be open to those taxpayers, as other Shen athletics facilities are, such as the track and tennis courts.

Written by on June 12, 2017

A. Other facilities do not need certified lifeguards.
