I have two questions about excused abscenses. Are college visits and field trips excused abcenses. If so, are they shown on our transcript?
A. Yes to both. Absences are on a transcript but it does not distinguish between excused vs unexcused. It just lists “Days Absent” and “Days Tardy.”
Why doesn’t Shen have a longer december break like other schools across the country and instead have no february break? I would much rather prefer a longer dec break.
A. Shenendehowa’s breaks are similar to all schools in New York State.
How would a student go about joining the National Art Honor Society?
A. Talk to your art teacher.

Why can’t we see our grades on the portal before the quarter ends. I think this would be the most important time to see our grades so we can bring up our average and ask any remaining questions we have. Thanks for your time.
A. That is the time that teachers are finalizing grades for the report card.
I am a student in HSE and am wondering why transgender girls are allowed in the boys bathroom. Is there not an all gender bathroom that was put in the school specifically for this reason?

Why does shen have to provide transportation for students attending private schools?
A. Because they pay school taxes too and it is the law.
Would i be excused if skipped school on a religious holiday that we would normally have school on? (i.e. Islamic holidays)
A. if you skipped school, no. If your parents write an excuse that you were absent for a religious observance, than yes.
When are 5th grade students notified of which middle school they will be attending in the fall?
