I was wondering why at East they blast the AC and keep the school so cold. I completely understand that they need to keep the vents open for COVID reasons and fresh air, but why do they need the AC on too? It is freezing cold throughout the entire school and multiple kids are cold even with layers on.

A. Air conditioning was turned off in October.  We cannot run air conditioning and heat at the same time.  However, there is more outside air being let into the building due to COVID.

A. Yes. That was the first time we used it and didn’t realize there was a setting in there that needed to be adjusted. They should come now at approximately 5 a.m.

As a parent and a music teacher, how is Skano being allowed to hold sing-a-longs? The CDC guidelines are 12 feet apart for singing and musical instruments. That is part of why elementary schools are not having music, chorus, orchestra or band in-person.

Skano is not holding a sing-along in the traditional sense.  There will be a slideshow of holiday music that teachers can play during an activity.  Students will still be at their seats which are spaced 6 feet apart, with masks on.  Teachers have been reminded that students shouldn’t be shouting or singing loudly due […]
