Summer Learning and Program Opportunities

Summer Driver’s Education Program

The High School Summer School Program also offers driver’s education. This non-credit course includes 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of on the road instruction. Students must have a valid NYS Learners Permit or license prior to taking the program. The program runs July-August. Students must be 16 years of age on or before July 1.

Payments are non-refundable once the program begins. Checks must be made payable to Shenendehowa Central School District. Registration will take place May- June. The program is conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The summer 2021 program for Driver Ed is a very condensed program due to its shortness in length. Because of that and social distancing requirements that still may be in place – we are uncertain at this time if we will be able to offer it. Everything will depend on the pandemic and mandates from the Department of Health and the NYS Education Department.

We normally post information to the Driver’s Education webpage in May regarding the summer program – so please keep checking for updates!

Shen Summer Adventures – The Shenendehowa Central School District, in conjunction with the Community Education Department, is pleased to sponsor our Summer Enrichment Program for students entering grades 1-12. Some camps are half-day camps while others are full day camps. Most camp directors and staff members are current Shenendehowa employees. All camps will be located primarily on the Shenendehowa campus.
