Hello! I would really like you to answer this question PLEASE!!! I do not trust this grapevine system, as a mother myself, I feel like this is very unsafe for kids to wander off here and tell whoever this is their personal things like, how old are they, or the social security number. Is this thing safe?

A. You can find the class size for every class K-12 on our enrollments page. Just click on 2017-18 opening enrollment. https://www.shenet.org/about-us/enrollments/
Why are staff sites and other things like the library and food service menus web “pages” not directly on shenet.org, instead of on their own Google Sites Page?
A. Any site or part of a site that is managed by a district employee other than the webmaster are done in Google Sites or another platform.
Do you know the person who writes each question on this Grapevine? Or is it all anonymous. Also, do you answer every single question?
A. It is anonymous. Most questions are answered. Questions that identify a specific student or staff member will not be answered. When multiple questions come in about the same topic, only one of the questions is answered. Questions with profanity are not answered.
do french exchange students visit clifton park through the PEACE program every year? and what grades are allowed to host french students?
A. Yes, French exchange students visit Shen each year through the Peace Program. Students in grades 9, 11, and 12 can host.
So in Gowana, there is a Gold star program where good students can nominate other students. I don’t think this is done fairly. Many people who were chosen are really bad in class or don’t do anything. One person who was chosen spoke without the teacher’s permission in multiple classes and got multiple lunch detentions including on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL and is really rude to other students. Is any checking done when people are nominated?
A. Random Acts of Kindness are appreciated and awarded with a Gowana Gold Star. Students who are disrespectful in classes receive a referral and possible disciplinary actions. The events are treated separately.
why can teachers and faculty make funny jokes about someone’s appearance or something similar but if students do it it’s considered bullying.
A. Teachers should not make jokes about a student’s appearance.
When my 1st Chromebook suffered an issue and had to be replaced, I was given a Chromebook that was of cheaper quality and performance. The CPU was a Pentium in my original and my replacement got a Celeron. This made my 17-year-old clunkers click along at least 3 times faster. Why is this
A. While 1:1 Chromebooks are being repaired we provide loaner devices. The loaners are fully functional devices, just not the same model. After 1:1 Chromebooks are repaired they are returned to the student.
Who requires High School Seniors in National Issues (a New York State required class) do 10 hours of community service and a town hall meeting in order to pass that class and graduate? Is it New York State or Shen?
A. Attending a community meeting and completing 10 hours of volunteer service is a requirement of the Shenendehowa National Issues Forum course which meets the New York State graduation requirement for Participation in Government.
