I was wondering if someone reviews and approves each teachers curriculum each year. Certain teachers have no method of teaching whatsoever and instead just handout labs and expect the students to understand the material with little to no background information.
A. Curriculum and instruction are reviewed by academic administrators, as well as building administrators. If you have a specific concern, please first speak with the teacher and then with the building administrator if you are not satisfied with the outcome.
How many applicants do you typically get for elementary SPED teachers? I heard from this lady that there is a severe shortage and they’re hiring unqualified people. Is this true?
A. All of our teacher positions are posted and applications are submitted through OLAS. We receive 25-30 applications for special education positions, not all candidates meet our standards. Acadia students now need a pass from a teacher to go to the library during lunch. Why is this? I often go to the library to work on my Chromebook (which is not allowed in lunch) or take out a book. Thank you for your time.
A. This is so we can manage the number of students during any given period in the library from the three schools.
I noticed the cameras on the busses and I noticed that they had a curved line of lights that were lit up,does this mean that the camera is on only when the lights are on?Also please show us how good the microphones are on the cameras.
