These 4 – 6th graders prepared, wrote, edited, practiced, edited, practiced and presented speeches to the incoming Koda Middle Schoolers last night at HS East.

Board of Education member, Gusta Miller, was invited to Carolyn Walton’s 3rd grade class at Okte to answer their questions on what it means to be a board member.

Mr. Symonds 7th grade technology class felt the first hand effects of electrical current for their electricity unit. The students learn about energy production all the way down to basic house wiring.

The Shen Music Department hosted their 19th Annual jazz Festival, featuring guest artist Sharel Cassity. The concert included students in grades 6-12 and culminated in a performance with Sharel and all 100+ jazz students!

Congratulations to Josh Kasper who received the Outstanding Business Education Award from BMEA of the Capital Region!

Unified basketball at Shaker in May

The Shenendehowa HS Chess Club hosted a sanctioned chess tournament with over 130 attendants. 

The tournament was run by the The RIght Move chess organization who focuses on providing youth players with a four round chess tournament experience. Students from the Shen Environmental Club volunteered to work with the Historic Preservation Commission to rake and clean up the Millius Cemetery on Clifton Park Center Rd. opposite the entrance to Arongen.

Karigon class congratulates high school student teacher and Karigon grad, Lily Huerter, on the Shen Color Guard Team winning first place in the state and 7th in the country at the world championships in Dayton Ohio!

Faculty and Staff members took part in a four session custom wooden sign making course with Andy Mink and Rock Travis in the middle school technology rooms! Using their imagination and our high tech automated equipment, they designed and created custom signs. Take a look at the products they made!
