Graduation Information

2021 Graduation

The Shenendehowa Central Schools graduation for 2021 will be held on the main campus at 970 NY-146, Clifton Park, NY 12065 at Brent Steuerwald Stadium. This event is rain or shine. As the ceremony will be held outside, masks are no longer required. Students are to arrive no later than 8:15AM, processional begins at 9:00AM.

The ceremony will be livestreamed on the District’s YouTube Channel beginning at 8:25am with the live processional starting at 9am.

Arrival, Parking and Seating Information

Accessible Parking 

  • In addition to pre-designated spots that exist on campus, we will be using one entire lot for accessible parking. This lot is on the accompanying map and is labeled W3. It is on the west end of the athletic complex. 
  • Students can stop by the High School Principal’s office or students/guardians should contact Carol Polsinelli (polscaro@shenschools) for a pass to the W3 lot.

Arrival 

  • The campus will open at 7AM for families (Graduates must be at their assigned gym by 8:15) 
  • Entrances in use: 
    • Rt. 146 
    • Clifton Park Center Road 
    • North Moe Road Entrance 
  • Parking lots in use – E1, E2, W1, W2, G1, A2, A3, ST1, and Clifton Common.
  • Please note we will need the following lots for faculty and staff parking 
    • E2 – South portion (closest to the building), E3, West half of W1, KO1, A1, and AK1
  • Getting from parking areas to Brent T Steuerwald Stadium 
    • Numerous Shuttle buses will be running on a regular loop from Clifton Common through campus to High School East 
    • The campus also has sidewalks in many locations for those choosing to walk 
  • Entering Brent T. Steuerwald Stadium 
    • There will be four check-in areas near the main entrance, organized by graduate last name, to check in the 4 guests per graduate (A-D, E-L, M-R, S-Z) 
    • There will be one check-in area for those utilizing the accessible parking lot W3. These guests will enter through the gate located near lot W3

Seating

  • Graduates will be seated and spaced on the north vertical half of the field
    • The seating for guests will be on the field behind the graduates 
    • Each graduate should have received an information sheet designating a seating section for their guests 
    • Guests will be able to choose their respective pods in the assigned section on a first-come, first-served basis

Please be advised that this ceremony will follow District guidelines for large scale events at the Football Stadium. Coolers and backpacks will be not be permitted.

    Class Rings

    Class of 2022 – can now order custom class rings, bracelets, necklaces or tags as part of a fundraiser for the Junior Class Council.

    Graduation photos

    Photographers from Lauren Studios take pictures of the graduates at different stages in the ceremony. For specific questions concerning graduation pictures, contact Lauren Studios at 336-6130.

    Graduation Cords/Medals

    • All graduates – green and white cap tassel
    • Graduates with a GPA of 85% and above – gold cap tassel
    • Graduates with a GPA of 95% and above – medal
    • National Honor Society – gold cord
    • Math Honor Society – light blue and gold cord
    • Science National Honor Society – Green, purple, and gold
    • Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society) cords – blue and white
    • World Language Honor Society – four different cords, each one corresponds to the flag colors of French (red, white, blue), German or  Spanish. Latin is purple and gold. Chinese is not a cord option because students need to take three years of a language to be eligible for WLHS and the district only offers two years of Chinese.
    • Tri-M Honor Society – Pink cord
