The CaptiBytes competed at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas and were named a Robot Design Award Finalist—an incredible honor at the highest level of competition in the program.

The FIRST World Championship is the culminating international event for FIRST LEGO League, bringing together 160 of the top teams from approximately 60 countries. To be recognized on this stage is a testament to the exceptional work of this team of nine students from Koda, Gowana, and Acadia middle schools, who have been working on this year’s challenge since August 2024.

Their creativity, collaboration, and perseverance truly stood out, and I couldn’t be prouder of how they represented their schools and our community on a global platform. I thank my co-coach Ryan Maloney, the adult mentors, Mihai Preda and Ellahi Choudhury, our high school robotics mentors (FRC Team 20) Nitya Bajaj (also a FIRST Dean’s List Nominee) and Pranamya Praveen, and especially the families for making this mission possible.
Team members include:
Eli Brewer
Arsh Choudhury
Colin James
Jacob Jeram
Griffin Maloney
Panchami Praveen
Anthony Preda
