I don’t understand. Previously you had said you did receive an IP address and then you said you didn’t. Then you said that you got a MAC address. What is true? Is this completely anonymous?
A. The system used for the old website provided an IP address. This website uses WordPress which does not. So it is anonymous. However…it could probably be traced by law enforcement if the need arose.
Hi, I was wondering who I should contact about the amount of Summer homework many children have? It seems if you are in HS and in accelerated or honors classes, you get punished over the summer. The amount of time spent – daily – on homework is unacceptable (Math, English and Social Studies). My child is also taking a voluntary health class this summer and has that work as well. That should be more than enough! Thank you.
A. Contact information for all of the academic administrators for the various subject areas can be found here: https://www.shenet.org/contact-us/
The school website says 804 students would be graduating this year making it the largest class in Shen history. At the graduation it was stated that 783 students would be graduating, this is also the number in the newspapers. How many students of the class of 2018 actually graduated.
A. We apologize for the mistake. The actual size of the graduating class was 771, making it the third largest graduating class behind 2015 and 2016 which were tied at 779.
If a student and their family decide that online schooling is a better fit for them, does Shen have or support any programs for online school? Also, do they have any options or programs for partial public/partial online schooling, where a student comes to school for certain classes or only certain days. Thank you.

Why are some teachers allowed to have kitchen appliances in their classrooms for personal use? I thought that was against district policy due to fire safety.
A. Refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots, hot plates, portable heating units, toaster oven, or other household appliances are not to be in classroom areas, with the exception of Family and Consumer Science and Special Education Life Skills classrooms. If you know of a situation where one is being used, please inform your principal.
What was required for a graduate to have a gold tassel compared to the green and white one?
A. Every graduate gets a green/white tassel. The gold is for a GPA of 85% or higher.
If you fail your final exam but don’t overall fail the class do you have to go to summer school
A. If you have passed the class you do not need to go to summer school. However, you would need to retake the final if it is a Regents Exam needed for graduation. Summer review classes are available for students prior to August Regents Exams.
