The Gowana PTA hosted a “Movie Night” on Friday, June 3 from 7:30pm – 10pm. The free outdoor event was held for Gowana students and their families. Gowana Middle School students fold origami cranes as part of a mindfulness activity after school. They then turned those cranes into garland, eventually to be placed at The Peace Monument in Hiroshima!

Long-term Health Education substitute Mrs. Krahnke invited students at Gowana Middle School to stay after school and fold origami cranes as part of a mindfulness activity. The students then created garlands of these cranes, which were mailed to one of Mrs. Krahnke’s personal friends in Japan to be placed at The Peace Monument in Hiroshima.

Gowana Middle School provided students with a presentation on the true meaning of Memorial Day and Jon Conover, Gowana English teacher, provided music during morning arrival and dismissal!

Shen High School and Middle School ENL classes went to the Ten Broeck Mansion and NYS Museum on Thursday, May 26 for an educational field trip!
