Can you use your phone at the high schools?

A. In general, yes.  If in a class, it is at the discretion of the teacher.

Why do teachers have to switch between classrooms at HSE so often? Also, why is there not a series of classrooms in each hallway dedicated to one subject? In one of my classrooms, throughout the day there is a Social Studies, German, and Spanish class in the same room.

A. You can request a new student ID in the principal’s office.

What does “SETR” stand for, in regards to the homeroom with this name at HSW?

A. Students from East that Travel.

What are the library hours for the HSE library?

A. The library is open from 7:10 am until 4 pm

Do 9th graders have to take the SATs?

A. No, but they can if they wish to do so.

Could you please provide information on how the high school policy that prohibits students who are failing more than one class from attending clubs and school events is enforced? Is there a list of ineligible students that is checked when tickets are sold? if so, who sees this list? Do other students see the list? How does this actually work? Btw, I think the district really ought to look seriously at who is affected by this policy and what message it sends to them as to noninclusiveness and consider terminating the policy.

Why aren’t students doing chemistry labs required to wear gloves? They are dealing with dangerous chemicals, and then touching all of their papers, pencils, and phones. It seems like this is not a safe method.

When do Junior class ranks become available to students and how do I access my rank?

A. When counselors meet with underclassmen in Feb and March, as part course selection, students can obtain their current class rank.  It is important to note that class rank is officially calculated fall of Senior year.
