Karigon hosted the Homespun Dance Group and we had a fantastic time singing and dancing to songs from around the world.

Karigon held its Spring Best Buddies in March and they had a wonderful time supporting the program! It was a smashing success!

Award-winning children’s book author Maria Dismondy visited Karigon for a “Together We Can Do It!” school-wide assembly.  She emphasized kindness and the practice of filling buckets as well as reading her book “Buddy the Bucket Filler.”

Karigon celebrated Veterans Day with a ceremony highlighting heroes within our Karigon family.  Students greeted Veterans as they entered school, and then we had a small reception for Veterans and their students in the lobby.  We are thankful for their service to our nation!

Mrs. Trotta’s first graders have been learning about Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month in music class. We learned that Hispanic Heritage month is a time dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and traditions of those from a Spanish speaking culture. To celebrate the musical traditions of Hispanic cultures, Mrs. Trotta’s class learned and performed a traditional Mexican folk dance to the song “La Raspa.”

Mrs. Trotta’s 1st grade class at Karigon was all smiles as they welcomed in the new school year.  They enjoyed a day of getting to know Karigon and eating lunch in the cafeteria for the first time.
