Karigon students in Rebecca Plouff’s art class celebrated staff retirements as well as the student growth with “A Sweet ending to new Beginnings.” Gr. 1 made lollipops, Gr. 2 cupcakes, Gr. 3 donuts, Gr. 4 ice cream sundaes (cups donated by Elnora #108 Stewart’s Shop) and Gr. 5 cakes.

Each year, students in the Shenendehowa High School Construction Technology Systems course build a complete three bedroom modular home.  The home is put out to bid for purchase by community members.  Shen is currently accepting sealed bids for the house that will be completed next June.  Please contact Mr. Greg Mayo at (518) 881—0235.

Seniors Heather Burton and Hailey Sukols from Mr. Lombardi’s Computer Science Discoveries class are passionate about women in technology and plan to do more coding in college. Both will be attending Penn State University in the fall.  Heather will be majoring in Aerospace Engineering.  Hailey will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering.  Both women credit their families as well as their academic experience at Shen for inspiring them.

Acadia students in Randy Symonds’ tech class engineered dragster cars using a design process in Autodesk Inventor a computer drawing program. With this they were able to identify the cars weight, projected frontal area, and anticipate an average speed.  One car went 40′ in .3 seconds  that’s 108 mph. More photos…
