- Acadia Team 6-2 took a trip to Ellm’s Farm last week!
- Mrs. Plouff’s art students hard at work practicing cursive writing with growing consistency.
- Interim Superintendent Dr. Wilson-Turner and members from the Board of Education joined in the first day of school excitement and toured all of our schools today.
- The Tri-Building held its first 6th grade orientation this week. Incoming students were able to tour the building, practice opening their lockers, and walk through their schedules.
- Acadia’s 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony.
- Seven middle school FLL robotics teams competed at Gowana this past weekend in the Shen Spring Rumble! Ctrl+Alt+Elite and the Fireballs claimed top honors for robot performance. The Attachment Innovation Awards went to Data Deleted and System Hacked, while Execute File.win and the RoboSapiens took home the Mission Innovation Awards.
- Students, families, and staff gathered for Acadia’s Student Recognition Breakfast to acknowledge students in the Howl of Fame and Leader of the Pack programs.
- Students in Rock Travis’ Technology 8 classes are working on building their own catapults. Students get to design, build, test, and make revisions all while learning and having a great time.
- Last month Mr. Silvagnoli took two 8th Grade Bands down to Central Park NYC where they performed a concert at the Naumberg Bandshell.
- This year’s Unified Physical Education Field Day was Wednesday, May 21st. The UPE classes in Grades 6-12 had a fun filled morning of inclusion as they participated in various physical fitness activities and challenges. Over 120 students were in attendance!

Welcome to Acadia Middle School
Acadia is one of three middle schools located on the main campus. It opened in 1953. The three middle schools buildings are attached and share core areas such as gym, libraries, etc., however, they function as separate schools.
Mission:
It is Acadia’s mission to promote mutual respect, to foster an environment which supports and maintains a sense of belonging demonstrated by caring for self and others, to cultivate positive interactions and cooperation among staff, students and parents, to provide a comfortable transition between elementary and middle school years, to motivate all students to reach their learning potential and to operate in accordance with our Code of Conduct. Furthermore, we believe that this kind of environment promotes growth, maturity, success and positive attitudes for everyone involved in our school.
